W6: Sejahtera Concept in Sustainable Development
What is 'Sejahtera'?
From my own understanding, Sejahtera for society means harmonious, good, peaceful, calm, prosperous and safe condition or environment. Meanwhile, Sejahtera for a person means to have balanced well-being encompasses the physical, spiritual and intellectual aspects. We must develop the Sejahtera concept within ourselves in order to create a Sejahtera society.
How can I apply the Sejahtera concept in my daily life?
Due to the pandemic, I'm currently at my home and undergo online learning. My hometown is located at Jalan Solok Kilang Berapi, Merlimau, Melaka. It is a sub-urban village, where it surrounded by housing estates. I think the best way to apply the Sejahtera concept in my daily life is the '3S' concept, which is 'salam, smile, and share' with my family and neighbourhood.
S(1): Salam
We as Muslim is encouraged to give and spread 'salam' to everyone we encounter in our daily lives regardless if we knew each other or not. Thus, I need to give and spread salam to my family, neighbourhood and everyone that I meet in my life. I think I have a good chance of doing this because I do a part-time job at my aunt's eatery, so there is a lot of people I meet every day. Thus, I can spread the salam to more people so that a harmonious state can be created and indirectly connecting the relationship with each other.
S(2): Smile
For me, a smile is the easiest and most beautiful thing for someone to do because it's just a simple action yet gives a big impact on the person we smile at. Thus, from now on, I want to practice smile at everyone wherever I go. I will try to smile regardless of what happens in my life, what I've been through and the trials I'm facing right now, I will try to smile in front of other people even if I'm hurting inside because I believe that smile is such a cure for the pain we felt, and our smile can be a cure for other people as well. Indeed, a smile can lead to happiness and calming a soul, which is good for the well-being of a person.
S(3): Share
Often we hear the phrase "sharing is caring", meaning that the action of sharing something with someone is such a caring action. If we care for someone, we would willingly share our belongings. Sharing can create a very harmonious and peaceful environment, especially with our beloved family at home. Thus, I would gladly share anything that can be shared with my family especially food. Sharing and eating food together is really good to strengthen the relationship in the family, and at the same time can contribute to the Sejahtera society because a Sejahtera society begins at home.
That's all for now. I hope you guys can understand and benefit from my reflection. Stay tuned for my next post! <3

Good one! 3S that we can apply in our daily life
